What is professional honesty?

Let me flip the question back on you. 

Have you ever felt like a job description asks for more qualifications than you have? Have you ever been tempted to tack on an extra year or two of experience to match it?

Have you ever told your recruiter that a salary range was okay to get an interview, but you know deep down that you’re worth more?

Have you ever embellished a story to make yourself sound more accomplished than you really are?

Professional honesty is understanding your interests and the interests of recruiters and hiring managers and being able to have transparent conversations about how they do or do not align.

Make sure you’re checking in with yourself and being honest about how you’re communicating your intentions.

If you’re not being honest, the biggest person you’ll end up hurting is yourself.
